As it is a refinished receiver with a new barrel and stock, assembled from parts plucked from bins in the CMP armory does it matter where the receivers came from?

I was able to look at a couple at Perry this year and it wasn’t a big deal in my opinion. They would be perfect for a shooter.

I'm willing to bet they sure are, and expect the "Specials" to be the future of sales. Interesting they have time to build enough Specials to offer for mail order, yet Field Grade orders are pushing a 5 month backlog. I'm thinking that now that they can offer Specials for mail order, the Field Grades will be posted soon as sold out. This happened with Service Grade orders when they were posted as sold out and Field Grades almost immediately became available.

I am curious hoew the pitting above and below the wood line on these stacks up against the last batch of $750 service grades that went out.

FWIW there has been more than 1 old airplane "restored" starting from the only original part, namely the nameplate. It reminds me of the old farmer's tale about his proudly having the same axe in his family for 250 years. Only replaced the handle 6 times and the head twice.
