Yes, without the invoice paper there is a lot of missing provenance. Then again I would consider the unique DCM shipping box with its associated stickers to be somewhat convincing, given the excellent condition of this rifle.

BTW, believing that there might be some CMP Forum members already following this auction is why I didn't link the web page directly, but instead just left some clues for any willing to put in some search effort, rather than blurting it all out and potentially exposing previously interested parties to a bid carpet bombing.

Not a bad buy in today's market. I would have bid myself, but I already have such a DCM supplied Anniston refurb tucked away in the safe, which is why I recognized the shipping box in the auction pic (note the rifle was not well described, which may have limited the number of bidders).
This one had/has a NM op rod, just like mine. Just a result of the rebuild process at location 041 (or maybe that was just where/who supplied the stock?) likely. Mine has the same DRC windage knob also. 041 looks exactly the same. Same general overall finish on everything. I didn't see in the description what year/manufacturer the barrel was, mine is a LMR 8-53.
