I think most of the controversy came from jealousy, the same "the stores get better rifles than those of us not near a store can get" that will never end. No one who USED the buyers agent program complained, only those who heard about it, with no intention of using it seemed to complain. Best I can tell the program was ended due to the complaints from those who thought it wasn't fair and not because of any actual issues. That alone made it problematic for sure; and CMP was probably smart in ending it (not that they need my, or anyone's approval). JH

Don’t have any 1903’s, just 1903a3’s.

I can say, for the ones that used it, it gave you the ability to purchase rifles that you would not normally have the ability to get through the ordering process. I for one thank those that were able to purchase the rifles with your request and paperwork. Some people couldn’t afford the trip to get these rifles, and it was greatly appreciated.
