Default springfield m1a pricing

trying to figure out what to ask for my springfield armory standard m1a that was made in late 1990's, is in excellent condition and has been fired very little over the years, it came with a winchester bolt, a hra operating rod and hra trigger assembly, it sits in one of the old fiberglass mil stocks, dont have the one anymore that it originally came in.
just trying to get a ballpark idea, have heard that the older ones with mil parts are more desirable.
thank you

Any chance this is a "5-line" receiver? SN range?

Try looking over at the M14forums, you might get an idea there. You do not have to be a forum member to take a look. You would be looking for the PX section.

You could also contact SAI over the phone, they will tell you how the rifle left their factory and when it did. They will need the whole serial number. That would give you added info to answer questions from potential buyers.

Regular new SAI M1A Standard models, if you can find one, are running around $1500.00 or so. I would imagine, depending on condition, yours might be worth north of that amount.

There is a real nice one on the M14 now for 1800. with Usgi wood and all USGI parts. I have a 91 Preban with WRA barrel would ask about 18-1900 also. I think for yours with gennese barrel you are in the 15-1600 range.

5 line receivers stopped around 1990. Prebans around 92 I think. Mine was aug 91 and all USGI. later was hit or miss. Nothing wrong with Genessee barrels, But a 63 Winchester just has some class.

IIRC...... lock the bolt to the rear and read the markings on the side of the barrel, like an M1 Garand.

The value of the barrel (rifle too) changes if you have a commercial SA barrel or a USGI barrel which is then SA INC marked.
