I’m posting a link to a folder in my Dropbox, with photos of my service grade 1911a1.

I absolutely love it. It’s a Remington Rand, frame and slide, manufactured in November 1944.

I received this Field Grade Remington-Rand on 5/28/21. I'm very happy with the pistol and especially, the look of it. Thank you CMP!

Not sure who made the barrel. The only obvious markings I found was a "F" on the right side of the barrel lug and a "P" on the left.

PS: I was not expecting the shipping case to be so nice. That is a top-notch perk and greatly appreciated!

Picked up this Ithaca/Ithaca Rack Grade last Friday. Went with the Rack Grade after seeing some of the post war slides pop up on Field Grades over the last month and that was something I personally wanted to avoid if possible.

Round 2; 22,xxx
Field Grade
Ithaca Slide/RR Frame
Serial: 1,956,xxx (mfg 1944?)

Overall pretty happy to have received USGI frame/slide. Weapon is VERY well used which is fine by me, I'm going to use it a LOT more. I'm a little concerned by the amount of play/slop/wiggle between frame and slide - you can see the loose tolerances when manipulated by hand and can hear it when you shake it in your hand - is this normal? Only other thing that concerns me which I may be able to fix is the slide stop. Mag provided and an aftermarket mag are hit or miss whether the slide will lock open when the mag is empty. If/when the slide stop engages with the empty mag and I remove the magazine, the slide will close. Is this normal? Any suggestions welcomed. Of course I'd feel better about it if y'all can reassure me this is par for the course as far as 75 year old combat pistols go! Looking forward to it getting out of CA FFL jail and sending some lead downrange.

Packet mailed Jan 7. RGN 22420.
Received call Tue 6/8, offered Rack and Field, chose Field. Shipped 6/9, retrieved from FFL today. Looks great except rear sight looks like it was dropped on a cinder block.
Remington Rand frame from 1945 (2,170,xxx) with 77 etc slide, Flannery Barrel. Very pleased. Easily could be service grade if it were not for the damaged rear sight.

Received my call 6/11/2021, and received it 6/15/2021. I was offered Rack or Field and chose Field. I am very happy and I think it looks great, witch the exception of the scratches by the "United States Property" stamp.

I got a Remington Rand frame (1945 date) and slide, with a High Standard barrel. Mine also has some paint on the grips, what looks like might be old rack numbers. I also got lucky and got an original Govt. contract magazine. Going by the markings it was made by Check-Mate Industries.

Right side

Left Side

Serial number/ Govt. Markings (note the scratches)

Mag floor plate

Post Ithaca Field Grade

Appears to be an older rebuild of an Ithaca frame with a Remington Rand slide sporting a well worn matching finish and numerous dings and scratches to include an "idiot scratch". Markings include a partially visible cross cannon ordnance stamp, FJA, AA, and P proofs on frame and slide. Has the proper serated hammer and slide stop and a press checkered thumb safety. Barrel is a HS with sharp shiny rifling that's very worn externally. Grips are Keyes with 10/16 mold codes.

Definitely a 1911 that looks like it may have seen a thing or two...
