Default Field came in - Colt Frame, RR Slide

I think its just about what I expected, very happy with it.

Barrel is "F" marked
6 digit Colt Frame
[W.B]
Colt VP re-arsenal stamp (that's my best guess, I can barely make out a triangle and that's it).

Looks like a refinish, since the Colt frame and RR slide match to perfection, so they must have been mated at the same time

The VP stamp is a stamp that Colt put on their when first manufactured and it stands for Verified Proof It is not a rebuild or re-arsenal stamp. I believe that Colt put that on all pistols built from the early 1900s to the 1940s.

I just assumed it was VP since its triangular.

If that is the case, where would I see a rearsenal mark? The only other mark is a "'P" above it?

Here are a couple of close ups on the mark.

You got one without a rebuild stamp. From what I have seen fairly common.
Not all depots/arsenals stamped the rebuilds.

Interesting, it would be sort of neat to know where it passed through.

So is the finish a re-park on my pistol? I only ask because I see the "idiot" mark is not parked over, as I've seen in some re-park examples. Or was it re-parked and the mark happened after the fact?
