Default 1911 Paperwork Packet for Auction

I am new to CMP and CMP auction site. I am thinking about bidding on a 1911 or 1911A1. The website says 'CMP 1911 Paperwork and Payment must be received by 3:00 pm CST, the following Friday from date of auction close out.
CMP 1911 Paperwork will be emailed The Monday morning after Auction close out. '

I am curious which documents are included in this emailed 'CMP 1911 Paperwork'? I understand that in addition to regular ordering packet, it must have a copy of a signed 01, 05, or 07 FFL. The CMP 1911 website also mentioned a 1911 order form, but I cannot find it anywhere online. Is it actually same as the universal order form or something specific to 1911/1911A1?

Thank you very much!

1. The paperwork included in the email sent to auction winners IS the 1911 order form/packet.
2. It is not available on the CMP website because they are not currently accepting orders (if they were available, guaranteed people would still attempt to submit them). Thus why auction winners will receive all necessary documents to complete their auction purchase, clearly stated on their website and the auction listings, as you note.
3. It is not the same as the CMP universal order form...the 1911 order forms are specific to the 1911 program, and do include a provision to submit the receiving FFL info.
They will NOT accept the universal order form for any 1911 purchase, which takes us back to the point of the email sent to auction winners...so they have the appropriate paperwork to complete and submit for their 1911 auction purchase.

Any further questions can be directed to the 1911 auction folks: 1911auction@thecmp.org

Good luck,
Rob

Just what Big Red stated, Our Auction system is outdated and you will receive the CMP(rifle) forms first (we are working to get that changed) BUt it is stated numerous times in the description section NOT TO USE THE CMP (rifle) FORMS. YOU WILL BE SENT THE CMP 1911 Forms on Monday. You then have until COB FRIDAY to submit the packet. That is more than enough time to submit the paperwork.

I prefer the term "quaint".

Arrow auction

twh1997, you are COMPLETELY INCORRECT, you DID NOT have to applied to purchase one during the limited application window 2 years ago and have received a RGN. ANYONE that has not already received a CMP 1911 and meet the requirements to purchase may bid on the 1911's on the auction site. If you did receive an RGN number and your packet HAS NOT been processed, we can use that packet and you do not have to submit a new packet. PLEASE, UNLESS YOU ARE A CMP 1911 STAFF MEMBER, let us answer the questions like this.

So your answer is that there is not a limit of one 1911 purchase per approved packet as applied to the auction 1911s and that anyone can bid on and buy as many 1911s as they want from the auction page? If thatís correct that is not the way I initially understood the process. As originally presented my understanding is that once you received an RGN you could use it to purchase from the auction or wait and purchase when your number came up but you were limited to only one.

No, that is not what was said at all. Your initial understanding is correct.
BLUF: You are allowed to purchase ONE 1911 pistol, whether you buy it on auction OR from the RGN process.
As per the 1911 section on the CMP site, and the FAQ here....

1. Until, and if all current orders are exhausted and new pistols received, customers may purchase ONE and only one 1911 pistol, regardless of whether it is purchased via the RGN process or via auction.

2. If you have already purchased a pistol via the RGN process, you may not purchase one on the auction. You may be able to bid, and even win the auction, but when CMP cross checks the info, they will catch it and the auction win will be invalidated.

3. If you submitted a packet and have a RGN but have NOT yet purchased a pistol, you can win one on auction. If you do that, your RGN will be voided and you will not have an opportunity to purchase one via that process. But, the paperwork you submitted will he used to process the auction win...that is what he was highlighting.

4. If you did not submit a packet/receive a RGN, you can purchase a 1911 off the auction. If you do, you will be required to submit your paperwork at that point. And that is your one pistol...you cannot purchase another one off auction.
