I just got my CMP Kimber 82G today and it's great!, no cut on the stock or barrel, the stock is very lite in color, maybe it's not walnut,

my Question on the stock at the top is a paper tag on it is 10,33 WHAT THAT MEAN???

TankerFrank, From what I've learned, that is the size of the "test group" in mm fired at the factory for that rifle. The tag on my 82G that I purchased at the North store reads 10.08. HTH

john I been told that the tag represent the weight and not the group size, and I did weight the rifle and it's 10lb plus, did you read any thing about the tag or is this just a theory

I read the "test group" theory on another gun forum. When I first saw the tag on my Kimber , 10.08, I thought it was an inventory tag for the CMP-Oct. of 2008. You've sparked my interest now and would really like to know what the heck that tag means. Maybe Orest would know? John

Default Tag

It could be a inventory number so the CMP can get the correct parts bag for it behind the counter???

For what its worth, I heard a gentleman tell someone else that the number was the size of the test group (in millimeters) at 50 yds (or was it meters?) while at the North Store earlier today. The smallest # I can remember seeing was 10.00. If it is test group size it seems at least a few would have broke into the 9s, does anyone else recall having seen a 9.XX? I also noticed today while I was looking at them that of the 20 or so "Rusty" ones they had, 5 or 6 had no tag at all. I saw no residue or other indication that the tag had been removed. All the untagged had serial #s under 002000. I was wondering if there is anything to that or am I seeing paterns where none exist and it's just a coincedence.

I ordered an 82G when they had the selloff of the JROTC returns ... got a brand new, never fired rifle that grouped .86" in a 100 yd tunnel (no wind) shooting SK STD-Plus ammo

Absolutely no complaints with that rifle.
