Default White Line But Pad

Did anyone get a "white Line" but pad on their 40X? Is it original, I thought the but pads were Remington marked...?

The butt pad on mine is a White Line. I do not know if White Line was the original pad, or if a Remington named pad was the original.

After a little research, I believe the White Line was the original. See drawing:

I agree. I wish I could recall where I read it but I do believe the white line pad was factory standard.

GPC has used white line pads. Around $11. Dont know what the condition is. I read somewhere that if the white spacer is bad, you can cut up a white 5 gallon paint bucket bottom and fit it to the remaining pad if that is all you need.

You could add a white spacer and black spacer, but the result would be a bit thicker than the original.

If you're going with a new pad, which is not clearly original, I'd lose the white spacer. Remember, this is from the era of Weatherby double-diamond inlays.

Numrich - http://www.e-gunparts.com/

Note that they may be too small for your average 40xb. I have a 40x stock from numrich, in nice shape with a good pad. The 40xb butt pad is about 3/8" larger all around - couldn't swap them.
