I’m definitely not a stock expert, but I looked at the letters a second time and they are waaaay off..I could be wrong, though. Also, it looks like whoever stamped the cross canon cartouche purposely only struck the left side of the stamp to make the other side look faint, but failed.

Horrible fake. Stock itself isn't original GI and the cartouche is nowhere close to real.

100% fake. Missing Win characteristics, not to mention the line on the G and the H should not line up.

That's so far from right and/or original or correct, even the term "fake" doesn't really apply.

I'd mark it "RS" and move on. That's for "re-strike", or "reproduction stamping"...which keeps it within the world of the rational.

An old buddy of mine had a similarly marked stock in which he placed his early gas port rifle when shooting it because he didn't feel right taking his rare original to the range when he fired the rifle. They're useful in that way. But yo-yos will STILL attack you as if you had a crayola Mona Lisa.

It's probably a pretty solidly fitted hunk of wood.
