Default Trigger Group For 3-45 SA 3.58 Mil

I picked up a SA M1 in the 3.58 mil range. It didnít have the right TG and it was a mix of parts. After doing a little research with what I had on hand, I went ahead and got a -16SA correct group, but I think I might have missed the mark and should have gotten a -18SA. I was later able to find a copy of Poyerís book 6th edition and it says -16SA was ended at 3.55 mil. But of course thatís an approximation. If Iím trying to get the rifle correct do I need to swap the TG out for an -18SA?

it's perfectly reasonable that the -16 could have been original equipment. the phrase is 'first in, last out".

to claim otherwise is to say that Springfield Armory checked all the parts bins to make sure there were no -16s still in inventory before issuing the -18. Clearly a ludicrous idea.

OTOH the expense of your completed "correct" rifle may only be justified by the fun you have doing it. So do it some more.

Saw an unissued M1 within 200 of my serial number. It had an -18SA. So now I know.
