Default My MW Rock

#170176X This was a F-G grade. Very good finish with just a couple of spots of light surface rust. Nice barrel. Good stock with a small chunk missing from right on top of the cross cannons and a couple of stickers! It is missing the slide stop and spring. Tried for a F-G S'G' first but ended with a empty cart, but very pleased with my second choice.

Finally got mine cleaned up. I've never received a milsurp so dirty!!! It's like they fired 1000 rnds through it and left it lol. It's a fair grade Winchester and all Winchester. The stock is cracked up front and has a piece missing missing and the barrel band was missing the sling swivel. I had another type 1 I used the swivel off of. I only bought this because I wanted a Winchester to build into an early example because I have another Winchester Highwood that needs a rifle. Didn't expect to get all Winchester though.

Default Late to the Party

I'm late to this party, was gone for a month and just picked this up from my FFL. Looks to be early WRA from what I can see. It is dirty, not a lot of dirt but a lot of old grease, no rust that I have found. I disassembled it for cleaning so the pictures are of the parts. I think maybe some stuff has been changed on it. The stock appears to me to be WRA oval cut with low wood, I think there is a remnant of the W in the sling cut. Bad thing is this stock has been modified for the M2 selector. Handguard is marked RSG as can be seen. Bolt looks blued to me, internals are W. Most parts that I can see are W marked. The rear sight was upgraded and is marked "I.R. Co./7160060. Trigger housing is a W but I'm not sure if this one is the right vintage for this serial or not. My only current reference is Ruth, good book but the data is very old. I need to get the CC newsletters. It appears the hammer spring is the older 22 coil type. The sear spring and mag catch plunger appear to be the earlier type. Recoil plate is marked WJ. I wonder if the stock set was added? Also wonder if Midway changed anything on these? Most of the parts look to have been together for a long time. I didn't have an early WRA example so this one works for that, yes, it's import marked but the marking is pretty small. The barrel wasn't too dirty and is bright, muzzle is a hair over a 0. Haven't checked headspace yet. Anyway this is what I got, was rated a good to very good.
