Default Remington 521 T

I have an opportunity to buy a Remington 521 T
It's in very good shape and has the blocks and rear and front sights[Lyman and globe front]

I can get it in the door for under 375.00 . I am wondering if this is a good buy i.e. do they hold up to shooting, etc and are they accurate enough for informal target work .

Just thinking maybe passing on it and buying a CZ or a Winchester Miruku 52

Thoughts please

The 521T was a junior sized, entry level target rifle. The price seems reasonable.

Default 521t

It sure looks to be fullsize. I can ask them to measure.

Just wondering if it's worth the purchase or search for a CZ.

The original 521T had a shorter stock, but the later ones were full sized. Stocks were a bit slimmer than the 513T and the barrel was thinner. Hard to tell without pics, but if the condition is right, the price seems OK.

The 521T I have is a youth rifle. It's very well finished and I expect it will provide the same service life as any of the 500 series rifles.
The price sounds about right, you're not going to find a nicer youth rifle these days, that's for sure.
The Remington and the Winchester are out-of-production for a very long time now. The CZ is current production. You may never have the opportunity to buy the REM or WIN again. If you have no interest in the collectability or history and just want a fine .22 lr you can't beat the 452/455 CZ rifles.

ps-Are you sure the rifle isn't a 541T?

The presence of the iron sights lead me to think it's the 521T. Having said that, ANYTHING could have happened in the aftermarket.

The 521 is one of the lower produced 500 series models. They shoot very well.

The 521 T is an excellent rifle and well worth the price. They are tack drivers and by "JUNIOR" they don't mean size but age. Barrel is 26" and a full length stock. The 513T is the heavy barrel target version and runs about 100.00 more.
