Default *BAD* LMR Barrels on Auction

GitM,

There is a set of fifteen *BAD* barrels on auction, ending 11/15/2014.

http://cmpauction.thecmp.org/detail.asp?id=2351&n=Box-of-15-BAD-LMR-M1-Garand-Barrels

Would it be too much trouble to amend the auction with a brief note on why the barrels are bad (throat erosion, bent, etc.)? I know that it already says "Deemed unworthy to build a rifle with", but that isn't much info.

Thanks!

"Life is Good!"

Can't say on the LMRs but I'll let everyone know on the SAs when they get here. Some I saw had worn threads on the muzzle end. Some had visible rust. Muzzle wear does not seem too bad as the max was +3 and a couple were ~0.

Sorry. I'm not an armorer. I'm the computer guy. Whats listed is what I know. If I pull a full time armorer to auction it keeps him from completing rifle orders.

What you see is what you get.

Some of the muzzles look very nice!! Not just the numbers but the finish. I would assume some or most have heavy pitting and/or damaged threads to classify them as scrap.
Better pics definitly would be a plus. I see quite a few garands on the auction side that dont show pics of the DAS stamps. Also some bayonet pics don't show the tip or the whole bayonet in one pic. Thus making it difficult to tell if they've been cut or not.
Just some observations and constructive criticism.

When you look at a bayonet on the auction site, always click on the pictures of the blades. In almost all the auctions doing so will bring up a full picture of the bayonet. Example shown below is what you normally see.

If you click on it you see this.

Update on my SA bad barrels. Things that might have made their reasons for marking them as such:
Wear at the location of where the gas cylinder eye sits on the barrel.
Bore dark.
Barrel rust.
Barrel finish wear.

And what you DON'T see is what you get too??? If there's something that "deems them unworthy to build a rifle with" shouldn't that be shown too instead of just pictures that deems them good? Sorry Ghost but it keeps bidders like me from potentially bidding.

Participating in a gun buyback program because you think criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbor has too many kids.

Description states: "- Deemed unworthy to build a rifle with - Being sold as a box of scrap junk parts"

The description alone does not require pictures, but the ones taken are just a courtesy because they are the most asked questions (barrel mfr/date & muzzle gauge).

We could list them without pictures....
