Thought I could catch a glimpse of a win proof under upper hand guard when I opened it up on the counter. Was this the deal of the day?? Took it all apart this morning to see an early marlin barrel stamping under the upper. Disappointed with that, especially since I set one back in the rack with an LMR. I will have to shoot it and see how it does. Again, a great trip with 3 good looking rifles. Retirement is great!

Shephunter, I was right behind you in line. Saturday Jan. 21 was indeed a great day to be at the South Store. I picked up a SC 1903A3 with SC 5-43 barrel. Listed as a Rack Grade but muzzle gauges 1+ and throat 2. FJA and ordnance cartouche on stock. Not sure why it was Rack Grade but I’ll take it for $750. Also picked up two SA Service Grades for $900 each. Both have original matching 7-44 barrel and 9-44 barrel respectively. USGI wood but no cartouches other than “P” proofs. I did not see any WWII cartouches on any M1s on racks.
Traveled over to CMP TALLADEGA and picked up another two M1s. Picked up a very nice, no pitting SA Rack Grade with 1944 barrel. Also picked up the find of the day….a Rack Grade IHC, NO PITTING on receiver. Looks near mint. Barrel gauges well also.
Also found three WWII dated 1943 and 1944 leather slings for $100 each at South Store. Additionally, I purchased 13 USGI OD web slings for $10 each. Great deals all around! Enjoyed talking to the other folks in line!
