These are some photos of a service grade I received a few months back. Still had the army reserve tag on it.

Default 2x Field Grades

These 2 field grades came last week.

Springfield S/N 852,XXX (9/42) with what I am assuming is the original 9/42 dated barrel at Muzzle of 2 and Throat at 2+.

Notable parts:
- Correct barrel
- WRA Operating Rod
- MXR marked safety
- Winchester front sight
- IHC Stock

Springfield S/N 1,472,XXX (4/43) with a 5/51 Springfield replacement barrel at Muzzle of 3+ and Throat at 3+. Receiver has been "lead pot annealed" which you may be able to see in the pictures.

Notable parts:
- WRA Bolt
- Early D28290-2-SA Trigger Housing
- Early long tail follower

Not sure on the stock on this one. There is a "P" proof mark. I think I can see a VERY faint cartouche on the left side but too hard to decipher.

These are definitely field grades but I am extremely happy with both. Thank you CMP.

Well, I posted these on the New Order Timeline thread, but since this is The Official M1 picture thread.. here we go again. Field Grade just came in today. Serial number puts it as May 1945. It's actually in pretty good shape, and I"m happy with it. I need to now find some time to take it down and clean it up, oil and grease, and then find some ammo.

Here's my latest. Hand picked by a friend a few years ago at Camp Perry. He heard I was looking for an HRA and offered this one which had been tucked away in his safe.

Don't have pic by itself, above the HRA is my USMC 1941 clone project. The HRA came in a brand new CMP walnut stock, but I had this fancy DuPage stock ever since winning it as a door prize after the New England Games awards ceremony.

As far as I have been able to determine thus far, except for the stock it is all HRA including the gas plug. 1955 5.6M receiver & matching LMR barrel, TE=1 ME=2. After doing all the Games legal tuning, it seems to be a pretty good shooter. Shot 2 targets in a row with 3-shot 1/2" groups plus the other 2 shots within ~2". This was with HXP '77, which has been my worst HXP.

Received my 5.7 HRA RM1Service on Tuesday. Here are some pics. Very happy with this rifle. The last 4 images are after a VERY light 000 steel wool and BLO rub.

Picked up my first Garand at the south store in April. All they had were 6 mil serials and I picked out the best one I could find. TE 2 ME 1. 4/56 barrel and all other parts correct. Stock was originally a post war HRA but managed to find a proper post war Springfield stock.

Just received my first M1 yesterday! 53 SA, service grade with original stock. Stock has some dings, nicks, and cuts, but it just adds character! Very satisfied with my rifle! THANKS CMP!!
