Default .30 cal ammo??

I have 2 Garands but just picked up an M1 Carbine (May1942). I know there is a lot of discussion as to what is and is not safe to use in the Garand, so I'm wondering what the recommendations are for the Carbine?

Just about any carbine ammo is good, but I have heard steel case ammo might break an extractor, have never had it happen but haven't shot much of it either. Mostly shoot my handloads but have also shot Remington, Aguila, PPU, Armscor, and Hornady. Got some some Korean surplus on stripper clips from SGAmmo before the price hikes, haven't shot any of it yet though.

There's some French stuff out there which is corrosive - not good for the gas system. Also, Chinese stuff marked as LC 52.

Some of the French is corrosive..some isn't. If its berdan primed its corrosive...if it's boxer its non-corrosive...however almost all of the boxer primed stuff has dead primers.

My chinese LC 52 tests as non-corrosive and has been for years.

FYI.
