Default Winchester Carbine stock

I have a Winchester Bavarian return. Itís 5.5mil with early features. The stock has these stamps on it which I havenít seen on Winchester stocks. It has a cross cannon stamp on the side and a simple W in the sling well and under the handguard. No other cartouche or inspection marks. Are these features of a later stock?

Ordnance stamp is for a Winchester 5.7 and higher, with some mixed use in late 5.6 serial numbers. A 5.5 would have a W.R.A./ G.H.D. no box to the left of the ordnance stamp.

Possible replacement post-war?

No, The Ordnance acceptance stamp proves this stock was on a carbine when it was accepted sometime after June 1944, at the Winchester plant.
