Stamping unstamped wood is properly called FAKERY.

Re-stamping or over stamping old marks is properly called FAKERY.

“Tribute” stamping wood to the first moron is a rationalization and FAKERY to every subsequent possessor.

There is no point at all in being nice about it.

Alles Klar!

Early on he was using Mis-leading descriptions using both of his seller names.
A number of us posted about this on multiple forums.
He then tweaked the descriptions and later called his work 'Restorations'.
I remember questioning if Offering a Service on Ebay was with in their rules, was told it is now.

I often thought about the 2nd or 3rd owners of these stocks down the road and what information was shared with them.

I thought I had found feedback of him buying Fake Stamps from Bardall, but either can't find that now or it happened after Bardall made all his listings 'Private'.
We had compared his stamps to Bardalls and they matched.
We don't need this guy around vintage wood or the Hobby.
Seriously look at some of his examples with the Shine of the cut off ends of Brass screws nearly blinding you. How hard is it to Gel stain over the cut end ?

Plenty of good Stock repair / refinishers out there like RickB and Frank Derrico.
Both more than qualified with NO Fake Stamp Options offered.

This Humping of Parts and Stock Stamps WILL ruin this hobby/investments.

I'm not a past customer nor a Fan and IMO it's like P!ssing on the backs of the men who carried these.

Need To Add:

He used to be known as m1carbineman (a known buyer of Bardall1 fake stock stamps). Feedback proof.
As of 6-7-20 offering up his goods as .... ozarkian2020 and roac_kando.
Currently selling as hiddensprings2020 and possibly one of the above names.

Here's a link to a post I made about this June of 2020:

Here you can checkout his WRA Type V stock, sold on Ebay for nearly $265.
Notice the M and Bomb in the sling well ?

OK , just read the description on that. What the heck is a " period Winchester reproduction stamp" ? I cannot wrap my head around that description.

JH
wrong is wrong, and deception is fraud, plain and simple.
Maybe you and some of us can tell the difference, but not all.
Yes repro's have a place, but only if clearly stated.
I've seen integrity going down the chute myself, with lots of sellers on line especially.

I sent him a grungy stock as a test balloon.

The stock is an SA marked M2 that I bought from J&G Sales some time ago. There is some wood chipped away around the oiler cut and plenty of bumps and bruises. The biggest issue is a crack in the barrel channel.

Also sent was a 4-rivet hand guard. Equally dark and grungy with plenty of bumps and dents but no big cracks or other damage. Decent rivets, etc.

The combo should be a good test for his ability.

Mr Painter777, I believe you and I just added another name to the list of people not to deal with.

The refinished stock will go onto a Fulton Armory Carbine.

Not trying to fool anyone into thinking it is a GI etc. Just wanting a decent looking stock to accompany my commercial Carbine.

I wouldn't worry about that. It's just a pot belly stock. Personally, for me, starving those people of work is a good thing to do.
