My CMP 1911 is a 1913 Colt frame and 1943 Remington Rand slide and I shoot mine, quite a bit. I did not purchase mine to stick in a safe or hang on a wall. I put new springs in her and use a Wilson ShockBuff for extra insurance. I have since obtained a 1918 Colt slide and had it refinished to match the frame for the looks. I kept the spot hardened RR slide for when I shoot.

We mostly shoot my wife's Remington Rand frame with a Colt slide as opposed to my ithaca , but they've both been shot. And the way you can tell if it's got Heat Treating is to look at the difference in the color and texture as in this photo of her Colt slide.

100% going to shoot it. For serious practive, I stick to 9mm as that is why I carry most and it's cheaper to shoot, but the 1911 will get her use.

I shot mine (FG) this weekend. The upside of all the parts changeouts on these pistols is that they are perfectly ready to shoot. Only bad thing for me was the new Mec-gar magazine kept popping out, and my left hand got a bit sore smacking it back in 20 times or so.

Shot mine today... 1943 service grade Colt receiver, Remington Rand slide...

Shot like a dream!! I shoot everything I own... carbine, Garand, now my 1911A1.

Even my original carbines come out every so often. Itís why I got emí in the first place.

Life is short... shoot emí!

Shot my Ithaca last weekend, shoots horrible, 10yds wasn't on paper and about 4" low at 5yds. Grabbed my 1918 Colt no issues. Back to Ithaca same problem. Disassembled, re cleaned and re inspected and I cant find any significant issues. Called CMP and they are sending me a shipping label to return it to see if anything can be done on their end. Wish me luck

I shot my 2/Ď45 RR slide and frame 1911A1 today at our weekly IDPA practice. I could not be more pleased with this pistol, shot to POA/POI! Compared to my competition .45 this pistol is right with it!

Ditto. most will sell, unless you have a son or grandson that's a shooter. My sons a Sporting Clays shooter, travels all over shooting. Not that interesting in shooting pistols or rifles, but that can change, I hope..........
