I would be willing to bet my Garand is probably a Philippian return. The metal was in great shape with almost no pitting. However; it has a new stock. It has been reported that many of the Philippian rifle stock were infested with termites. This would explain the great metal would be given new stocks.

We know for a fact that Garands were still coming out of US storage as recently as 2017, so there could have been others as well.

I realize this is an old. But I thought I put my two cents in. I bought one right before the store closed and I assume that it is Philippine returned. The only thing that was original was the receiver and probably the bolt. It didn't
really show any real pitting above the wood line.
With a brand new stock and brand new Barrel plus everything freshly parkerized it is a heck of a deal for $650 for a shooter.

The cmp clearly got a large shipment in 2020. I, and several other members have posted FOIAs confirming this. It's likely where the brief glut of nice 60s rebuilds came from.

Look at the first post here: https://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=286857
