Cheek piece/riser on M1A

I see that the new rules allow a scope on the M1A rifle.
The scope would be positioned pretty high.

Is a cheek piece/riser allowed in service rifle competition?

the NRA booklet sez "A temporary, fitted, non-adjustable cheek piece may be added for use on the service rifle when using optical sights." ('e' on pg 8); but I didn't see anything in the CMP booklet
