I live north of Great Falls. I am very active in NM shooting, both NRA and CMP matches. I shoot matches in Butte, Missoula, Anaconda, Billings and occasional vintage match in Great Falls. I hope to get more vintage matches going in Anaconda and possibly Missoula.

Cold up there?

Coldest I now about was in 1980. I was born in 85, but my parents kept weather records out here. It was 52 below zero that year, dead standing air. No chill factor. When my Father called and checked with the neighbors they all had the same temperatures on their thermometers, but nobody really knew how cold it got. All of those thermometers came from the Equity Farm Store in town and 52 below was as low as they would register.

The Bitterroot valley hasn't recieved the sub zero temps this year so far. The lowest we got this year was probably around zero but it didn't last long thank goodness. As many people know, it is no fun freezing to something. JW

I'm 12 miles south of Ennis.
This past winter (last year too) was mild and dry.

Have not been shooting much this year, my ammo stack is too dear.
I have two HRA's on order and I may see the first one by Memorial Day.
