I have had one of Wayne's stands for a couple of years and think they are well worth the money, well made and very stable. The drop rod is used to clear an obstruction in the bore or a stuck cartridge. We had a fellow on the line who had loaded a cartridge too long and stuck a bullet when he tried to extract it,with that rod handy we knocked out the bullet and he was able to finish the match.

This is not the standard stand Wayne makes. This stand was designed to be as stable as possible without regards to how much it will weigh. Without the scope it weigh in at 25 lbs with one cup of lead shot in the bottom half of the mast.

It sure looks great but in my personal opinion it is an overkill.
I like over engineered and overbuilt man's toys and this is no exception. As already been mentioned Wayne's standard stand is under $300 and IMO better than what is available today.

As a retired mfg. eng. I will say that if you get one it will most likely last you the rest of your life and someone's else's too.
It looks to have had a great deal of thought put into it and all of the parts appear to be well made of good light material.

Jim
You are absolutely right. It will last for generations. Very well thought of stand. Wayne put in a lot of effort into the design and manufacturing of his stands.

Looks good to me and price is about 25% cheaper than my Polecat. I'm impressed.
