Pasted from email received 4/6/21. I'll take a little luck.
How is this even possible?

Just a guess, but perhaps a transposition in the 4/6/21 email and the number was actually 23817? No number in yesterdayís notification email so canít verify.

Even the number 23,817 does not make sense.

Numbers 23,802, 23,805 & 23,805 were all contacted July 28th.
Numbers 23,822 & 23824 were both contacted on Aug 2nd.

The last date people reported contacts (RNG 24,821, 24,851 & 24,854) was Sept. 15th.

I would expect the max. RGN contacted on Friday would be approximately 24,920 based on current contact rates.

There are many options. Maybe you got someone else's email back in April? I don't know how people's e-mails were linked the to computer which automatically generated e-mails.

I thought Iíd read where orders werenít necessarily filled in strict RGN order, but could well be mistaken. In any case as I said previously Iíll take a little luck; itís been a helluva year.

They are not filled in "strict RGN order". That is true. It appears that the CMP take a batches of numbers (50 to 100??) and divides them among their callers. So for example Caller #1 might have 1 to 10 and Caller #2 has 11 to 20.

This results in something like RNG 1 to 5 and 11 to 15 get called the first day and number 6 to 10 and 16 to 20 get called the next day.

So far the "out of order" number was an individual who said that his number, 25,520, was called on Sep 3rd. The 2nd highest number for that date was 24,517. So 25,520 was 1,003 higher than the next number. But this very easily been a typo.

Out of sequence number are generally no more than 100 in advance of the last highest.

There are many out of sequence where contacts numbers were contacted after other numbers in the range. There have been only 2 whose number are over approximately. Number 25,520 which was 1,003 in advance and yours 32,817 which is 7,963 in advance, nearly 8 time more.

Well I got my email from Hope today! Called and left a voicemail. Hopefully Ill hear something today if not first thing in the morning! RGN 24961

Edit heard back and my local gun store / FFL wasn't accepted because they're an 08 not a 01 02 or 07. Googling says this is an import license but just for my knowledge what prohibits them from things like this? I've used them for all my transfers until this. I should have asked the gun store which license they had. I just assumed a storefront guaranteed the correct licenses.

Ok, here is the rest of the story, Sanford's RGN is 24,917, not 32,817, as we have said before, there has been an issue with our email system. He was sent 32,817 through a program hiccup. We did not skip anyone. On that note, there are many that we have attempted to call but have been unable to reach, that is why people are receiving emails. If you receive an email it means you didn't answer when we tried calling you. Our policy requires that each time we call or send and email, the person calling/emailing, must note the date, time and their name on the order packet reflecting what they did. You can't blame us if you have changed your number/email , no longer work at the number/email you listed in your packet, listed your home number not your cell and are on vacation, I could go on with excuses but y'all get the point.

Thank you for clearing this up. It is nice to have this confirmed as an e-mail glitch.

Is the glitch why people, like myself, got a second e-mail to confirm our random numbers?

I also want to say thanks for clearing this up! I'm hoping to get my call in a few weeks.
