Joplin Mo area ranges

Will be visiting SW Mo in march and hope to get in some shooting. Anyone here belong to any local ranges or familiar with places to shoot and matches that are being held?

Joe, the state has ranges that are run by the Dept of Conservation. There is a staffed range near Springfield, Link here. It's 3 bucks an hour to shoot at the staffed ranges.

They also have unstaffed ranges. These are free to use but it is also self policing and self regulating. I'm not sure which counties are down in that part of the state but here is a listing of all of the unstaffed ranges sorted by county.

On March 12, the Osage Orange Sharpshooters have the range reserved in the morning for

"30 round JCG/SGF/Carbine/Vintage Beginner's match (Any CMP Rifle) (Classroom only if precipitation. And if weather is bad, we WILL use the classroom for a clinic and reloading advice.) Ammunition free for new shooters"

I am a member of this club, and I have attended a JCG match at the range that was mentioned above, the people there were very helpful and really great shooters, the range is excellent, I am planning on going there in a couple of weeks if I have time, if I do I will take a few pics for you.

Thanks crazy-mp, the Osage Orange Sharpshooters looks like a great club that holds events that are just what I am looking for.
