Default Oct 1941 Rack Grade

Received this Oct 1941 rack grade last Monday. A fair amount of pitting above and below the wood line on the receiver but nothing super deep. Receiver has been reparked. Barrel is a 50s HRA with some pitting but after a heavy cleaning may still have some life left. Doesn’t swallow an m2 round but I don’t have a muzzle wear gauge.

Trigger group is an all correct parts (the best I can tell) 14SA
Bolt 12SA W9B
Oprod 3SA
Stock was in rough shape with a serif P in a circle and P in a box marks, small ordinance wheel on the bottom of the pistol grip, and I believe the faintest outline of an EMcF stamp, though the bits of only a letter or two are visible when held at an angle under bright light. It cleaned up nicely with a good “been there done that” look.

I worked over the stock and steamed some dents out. Refinished with oxidized boiled linseed oil.

All in all I’m very happy. A pre war receiver, WWII walnut stock, and nice mix of WWII SA parts. The barrel verdict will have to wait for me to shoot it.

First pictures are as received, the end are after a little stock work and cleanup.

I received Oct 41 Service Grade 367608 in May. It looks like you have a correct SA-3 operating rod!!
