Default X serial number cutaway 1911a1

I know , need to post pictures

I kinda went crazy last weekend and bought part of a collection that included a cutaway X serial number Remington 1911A1 with Springfield SA marking.

I'll try to get pictures posted this weekend but it might be Sunday before I can get to it.

Cut-aways are incredibly cool. I thought I understood the inner workings of a 1911 before I got to play with a 1911 cut-away. Probably messed with that thing for an hour.

Just curious, could that cutaway 1911 be fired or is it weakened in critical areas? It looks like the cuts just open windows without destroying parts. Increased risk of escaping gasses?

Well, it could be fired at least once!
