What do you do with it?
Leave it alone in wrapper or take it out wipe it down and display it.
It's the holy grail Garand and would like to know what most think.
I have two officially "Unissued Garands" in my collection, one SA and one HRA, purchased at the 2009 (?) GCA Convention in Anniston. I am leaving these strictly alone, for the pleasure of owning rifles just as they were received by the Government.

I have more than one for the pleasure of shooting, including a faux gas trap.

To be picky- Iím guessing what you have is a real gas trap, only assembled from reproduction parts.

I'll accept that correction. It's built up from a RAT Worx kit.

Yes, you basically leave it alone as is... Wiping it down with oil decreases the value is what I've been strictly told.

Exactly! I might buy an unissued rifle to flip and buy 4 (8?) Danish rack grades, but thats the only reason I would buy an unissued rifle because... exactly what you said!
I sure don't want to shoot it, so why do I need it?

Just bumping this to the top again because I want to make clear, there is NOTHING wrong with buying/ owning/ enjoying an unissued rifle. I did not mean to sound like there is, I should have said, for ME, personally. Personally, it is difficult to stomach the idea (and I am in that boat right now with a 6.92 mil) when I could be playing with several beaters, which are more my speed. Don't know why Im so slow on the uptake, learned the same thing about girls back in the day and my beater is a gem!

RatWorx is awesome! I have the #80 (00080) 5.45x39 AR they made back in 2010-11, fat barrel under the handguards and it is an absolute tack driver. I trade around some but that is one I will never part with, til I pass it on to my son.
