Which of these is the correct blue service for a circa 1910 1903?
CS402 Rifle metal refinish-Matte Blue all metal parts. This service includes the disassembly of the rifle, surface preparation and the bluing of the metal parts. The metal finish will be a dark blue/black and have a matte or no gloss appearance (Removal of pitting is not included). Rifle will be reassembled and function fired. CS403 Rifle metal refinish-Polish blue all metal parts. This service includes the disassembly of the rifle, surface preparation and the bluing of the metal parts. The metal finish will be a dark blue and the outward surfaces of most parts will have a polished blue appearance where possible (Removal of pitting is not included). Rifle will be reassembled and function fired. |

Technically neither. The CMP matte blue is just typical hot bluing that the surface was prepared by bead blasting.
Rust blueing is the correct finish. |

Any recommendations for somebody to do that? I don't have near the time to do that myself on complete rifle lol!

I don't know anyone who does that professionally. Do a search on here. A while back someone posted pictures of a krag the CMP did in matte. You may like it
