You mean the original purchaser?

If so, check with the Springfield Research Service and see if they have the original purchaser docs.

I have NM serial number 1402726 and got some documentation from the SRS on my rifle. Here is the SRS letter and Ordnance sales ticket.

I blacked out the original purchaser's name.

Those names were recorded by Frank Mallory when he visited the old Rock Island where the records were.

I will reach out to someone to tell you.

I just finished making a few changes to SA #1,273,549. (6-26 barrel) and test fired it. I spotted this rifle because the barrel looked thicker and had an unusually nice blued finish. It is some special version of the SA 1903. Removed the commercial stock, Hoffman striker-mounted aperture sight/safety and ivory bead front sight. Now in a 1922 stock?? with NM butt plate and M22 barrel band. The medium weight barrel fits the stock contour perfectly. A Williams target receiver sight fit the holes, standard 1903 front sight blade and sighted in at 100yds, it put five 110gr Hornadys in 1.8" right away. Don't know much about this rifle, but it is a beauty. Good Shooting..... .

1,262,843 Sold to Payson D Foster, Plsnt (likely Pleasant) Ridge, Michigan

Ancestry has a Payson D Foster and a pretty extensive family tree. Might reach out to that owner (its private), might have a picture of him. Appears he served in the 1930s and at least made it to the rank of Lt. Col.
