Nice article, but I wish they wouldn't publish those, LOL. I am fortunate to have gotten a pistol on round 1, but I would appreciate the opportunity to get another in a round after #2.

The last pistol he showed, the re parked mixed parts gun is the key. He said most people will receive a gun like that in a condition ready to issue to a soldier. I think a lot of people had other expectations!

I had my wife send in her order yesterday, it doesnít cost a lot to get a RNG, and if you donít want the option offered you can always decline when they call.

That's why, if I get a call, I'm going field grade. Hopefully, I'll get something a little less sandblasted, lol

The guy making that statement isn't an employee of CMP. While that article is new, that particular video was made before the 1st CMP 1911 ever shipped. ALL those pistols are gone, I have seen no facts regarding average condition of pistols received since. Either way, most people won't receive a gun like (whatever), as there are 3 grades, not one.

Best bet remains:
Read the grade descriptions.
Do not read into the descriptions. If it doesn't say it, don't expect it.
Note that the grading is based on condition for issue (serviceability) and the CMP 1911s are not graded on collectibility.

If you "need" a collectible pistol, then the CMP Auction or secondary market is your best bet. Otherwise, remember "lottery" and "words in the grade description you chose".
