Had time today to try and id parts on my JSB Colt. Cannot get out due to COVID but not feeling too bad. Anyway here is what I think I found.
Grips are original style Coltwood and not the Korea era replacements with the part numbers. These have the webbing and II and 2 markings. BONUS and seems to be original to period.
Type 4 Wide Spur Hammer. The narrow spur hammer came out in 45 but a wide spur from 44 could have easily been used, bottom of the bin deal. Could be original to period.
Main Spring Housing, correct 7 rib from 44/45. (No pic but it is there)
Slide Stop is the serrated type from 44/45. Original for the period.
All other parts with the exception of the replacement barrel appear to be correct.
The slide and lower are period correct with the slide having the “pregnant Pony.” All the wear marks from the lower and slide seem to match up and finish is exactly the same. As I stated before, I cannot for any rebuild marks or appearance of refinishing. This really is a survivor.
Might need to get this one appraised and up the insurance.
