Have you actually gone inside Four Seasons and tried to purchase one of the handguns with the tags that read 'For C&R Only" ? I dont get down there very often. I know what I saw and I asked out of curiosity. I was told that those were for sale to anyone from any state. Maybe things changed?

For all I know they have salespeople who have C&R 003 FFL's. In that case they could do C&R to C&R sales of non roster guns. I do not know. I do know that Carl is a stickler for the rules which he has to be given his exposure (I bet he has AG moles in his shop every month checking things out).

I am aware of what the MA laws are regarding 001 to 003 FFL sales and that is the reason that MA is the ONLY state that the CMP FFL will not ship 1911's to. I was very happy about the 003 FFL sales being allowed in the 2014 Firearms Law (effective 1/1/2015) until the law was actually passed and the 003 clause got grouped into the dozen or so provisions that were delayed until 5 years in the future (i.e. 1/1/2021). The law is clear.

P.S. Asking somebody at a gun shop about the law is as good as opening a fortune cookie for the answer. THe statement "those are for sale to anybody from any state" is technically correct if they are C&R sales since C&R sales allow sales of eligible handguns to out of state residents which is a violation of federal law for non C&R handguns. It is also only one of several implications of the "C&R sales only" sign. In fact the MAJOR implication of C&R sales of eligible handguns in MA is that they do not have to be on the approved firearms roster.

Fascinating - What I saw already is exciting. I imagine prices will go high, but limited by folks who already have their CMP 1911 (as I do).

Looks to be $1050 or so, the auction will advise if the reserve is met.
