Maybe there was an issue with the phones. I know that some people I call you can't leave a message because they voice mail is full.

I guess it shouldn't hurt to make sure your voice mail is empty.

No they call first if that doesn't work then they email. If you're getting close keep all hailing channels open.

I entered the expected number in my contacts as CMP1911 and that's exactly what showed up on my phone when they called.

And watching the numbers here I knew within a few days when they would likely be calling and it worked.

Now to get my 1911 out of FFL jail I'd sure like to see what I got but at least it's here.

When I answered yes to the email question I was only referring to my experience. I literally carried my phone around for days (when my number was close) with the ringer on and I compulsively checked my email account during that entire period. I never received a call. I only got the email. However, that doesn't mean that they aren't calling people. I'm sure they are using multiple contact methods to get the job done. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I had a question for you experts about some markings on my M1911A1. I don't see any arsenal rebuild initials, but beneath the slide stop pin to the right of the serial number I see an A. a 9 and then 77. These markings are separated from each other. Does anyone know what these signify?

Thanks!!

This is great info. Thanks Shomway for your expertise! Love the idea of this piece of history being with the Marine Corps at some point.
