Default S'G' Trigger Housings

I was rummaging thru parts boxes this morning and found a T3 S'G' TH in cosmoline and cheesecloth wrapper. It is marked S'G' but has a tooling hole rather than a dimple. Reisch says IP made T2s and Grand Rapids made T3s shortly after finishing IP production. How long did S'G' produce these T3s before changing to the dimple?

col b,
I can't answer how long S'G' used the Tooling Hole. I think the full tooling hole would have been TH's started by IP that were completed by S'G'.
S'G' using the IP inherited machining equipment then transitioned to just the Dimple with small hole, then the Dimple with No hole, finally some with no Dimple.
I believe the Type III TH came in to use early summer of 43.

I've seen a few from the Split serial block in the 1,8 mil range with Type III TH's with both just the Dimple and Dimple with small hole.
Barrels usually dated ~8-43 or so.

Earlier in this block at ~ 1,7 I believe any Full hole had been started by IP.

Not sure if I've helped or set you back.. But I tried.

Thanks, Looks like the CC url was confused as well. I was just just curious as it is kind of a novelty!

There are even some Type 2 (rear bevel) trigger housings marked S'G' with the full tooling holes.

Yes, I read somewhere that these were allegedly finished by IP under S'G' management control, but were not stamped until later by S'G'...

My guess is the following S'G' marked trigger housings may have been made in this order:
1. Type 2 (rear bevel) with complete tooling hole
2. Type 3 (no bevel) with complete tooling holes
3. Type 3 (no bevel) with dimples only

I think I have even seen S'G' trigger housings with a dimple on one side and a complete tooling hole on the other side.
