I'm confused by the auction item
M1 Garand WRA Barreled Receiver 1612395 where it says "Manufactured in August of 1943" but the receiver says "D28291 WIN-13". Also the description says "Top Barrel: D35448 W.R.A" & "Side Barrel: W8125 H&R G 7.62 NATO". Was the barrel rechambered by H&R? Did somebody mistype 1943 instead of 1945? Appreciate anyone clearing this up for me. |

The barrel appears to be a WWII era WRA barrel that has had an insert put into the chamber by H&R to convert it to 7.62 x 51 use. That receiver would have been made in 1945. I am guessing someone looked up the Springfield serial number of 1612395 and came up with a date of 1943 which would have been correct for a Springfield of that serial number, but not for a Win-13 Winchester of that serial number.

Navy barreled action as sold by the CMP a few years ago. And yep, converted by H&R with an insert.

Anybody else notice the WRA rear sights? The photos must be zoomed to super close-up to see the WRA flared arrow heads on the sight drums.
