Looking for Garand-friendly ranges

Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club has Sevice rifle matches every second Saturday, shooting starts time at 9:00am. There are matches on the 100yd & 200yd. You don't need to be a member to shoot the match. This is where the state Garand Match has been held for the last two years.

Didn't see it mentioned here, but there's a web site out there that lists all the ranges in the DFW area that are FMJ-friendly as well as others that are semi-friendly as long as it doesn't attract a magnet.

In short, these are the outdoor ranges that allow it:

Top Gun Shooting Club in Leonard (far north of McKinney)
Gibson's Outpost in Mesquite
Magnum in Sanger
Jacob's Plain in Greenville

The Whitticker rifle range in Hamilton MT is a pretty good range. It is a public range but one must sign in and pay $5.00 a day or $35.00 a year dues, targets provided. Please don't drive up here the three weeks before general rifle season opens. The 200 and 300 yd. ranges are closed and the amount of people on the range is at serious flood stage. It would be nice to see you and crack a couple primers. JW

At one time they were banning any ammo that attracted a magnet as someone thought the magnetic ammo was inflicting too much damage to the new baffles. Which IIRC was eventually relaxed a bit but you should probably check to be sure. I'm ashamed to say as a member there I can't remember what was finally decided. My work schedule will keep me off the range through June, so I'll know for sure after that as I have a fair amount of HXP to send downrange.

That being said its a pretty good range and they used to hold CMP and vintage rifle matches there.

The Frisco Gun Club on Eldorado Parkway just East of the Dallas North Tollway has four 100-yard indoor rifle ranges. FMJs are OK unless they attract a magnet.

They also have 36 25-yard indoor pistol ranges.

It's a private club. $400 initiation fee, $75.00 a year dues.
They have a Service Rifle Match the second Sunday of every month at 2PM
Range is FMJ friendly and all matches are open to the public.

My dad and I were members years ago, good to hear they are still open. I'm hoping to move back next year. Too bad they don't like FA. Oh well, I'll have to look for a different range, their loss.
