After many years of PPC I'm planning to broaden my horizons with CMP pistol matches coming up at the OKC games. After reviewing the CMP Pistol Rules and the CMP Games Rules, I determined that I would use the following ammo for the respective matches:
230 grain FMJ for as-issued 1911 match; 185 grain JHP for EIC match; 185 grain JHP for Military and Police Service match; 185 JHP for the "40 shot" pistol match; Really I'm just looking for 1) confirmation from the CMP pistol veterans here that I'm reading the rules correctly and 2) I'd be interested in hearing your favorite loads / pistols you are using for these matches. |

Those will work. 4.5 grains of Bullseye for either bullet. I used a Buddy Chapman accurized Springfield 1911A1 (old school) with a flat mainspring housing, front strap stipling and Bo-Mar sights to leg out.

CDRT,
That was my plan for the 230s. I already have a good VVN310 load for the 185s that I've used for years. What do you shoot for the as-issued or M&P? |

An out-of-the box Auto Ordnance 1911A1. I just tweaked the trigger pull to just over 4 pounds. I shot a 98 slow fire with it at OKC a few years ago, before surgery on my left hand knocked me out of shooting it for a while.

Brandon: You might want to check the rule book as I do not think that HP ammo is allowed in the M&P match, but only FMJ. Bruce J.
