What is the attraction of rifles, except ones that are new, not being taken apart for photos and parts identification?

Several auction rifles recently were not dissembled due to being covered in grease or in a plastic bag.

There is an AFPG rifle on auction now, #7125, which is in a plastic bag. There is almost no possibility an AFPG rifle is new or unfired.

The bidding is up to almost 4K, so there must be some value in a plastic bag of mostly unknown parts.

Its not about he rifle being new or unfired. Its about the rifle being in the unfired/preserved condition since it was last overhauled or built. Its guaranteed to be exactly as it left the armory with out any chance of parts swapping since then. Collectors are not buying these type of rifles to clean up and shoot.
