By dialing the number you provided them. It has been reported it will identify as an Anniston number. The email will be from the CMP and it instructs you how to contact them. They have stated numbers can vary by up to 500 due to how they are contacting people. Be patient.

From the 1911 FAQ....

3. When CMP calls me, what will be the number from which they call? And what will be the email address they use to send emails?

A: The phone number will be from area code 256, with first three being 770 or 835, i.e. -- (256)770-XXXX, or (256)835-XXXX.
The email will be in the format of the first letter of the sender's name, their last name, with extension @thecmp.org

Called CMP yesterday and gave all info needed and the gun was shipped yesterday afternoon. My number was 28,047 for my 1911 and they only had rack grade. The gun will come in by Fed Ex to my FFL.

You guys were correct. Patience. I got the call yesterday.
My iPhone said it was from Anniston, AL. But instead of showing the number, it said Spam Risk. FYI the number was 256-770-4744.
They offered Field and Rack. I chose Field.

Just got email and called for 28276. Only rack available which is dandy since thatís what I was leaning towards. One less decision to have to make . Class act, Shunda and everyone at the CMP who makes this possible.

My number was 28314. Got the email Friday morning and called. Offered field & rack. No shipping Friday and holiday off today so she said it will ship Tuesday.

Like many others I have been patiently following the RGN process. I received service grade Colt with Remington Rand slide (Army issued 1942) in the first round and completely satisfied with M1911A1 I got. Being a Marine (1964-1968) I had hoped for a Marine issued but that didnít happen. My son (also a Marine 1985-1989) sent in for round 2 and itís his hope also to get a once issued Marine M1911. If this happens there may be deliberate discussions/trading options at next family gatherings. My wife (of soon to be 54 years) has also submitted for round 2, her selection (upon her ďpromotionĒ) will be passed on to our grandson (his Marine status is yet to be determined as he is only 12).
My wifeís RGN is 28,607 and my sonís is one higher or one lower, I forget which. They werenít submitted on same date or even from same state but somehow ended up with consecutive numbers. Those numbers should be contacted this coming week, I suspect on Thursday.
I understand that itís luck of the draw but if ďprocessorsĒ happen to read this post a notice a Marine issued is before them it sure would make family gatherings more pleasant. LOL
Hope all have a blessed day.
