Non-sactioned match for Vintage military, M-1 Garand and modern military rifles.
Dates: April 16, Jun 18, Sept 17 and Oct 15, 2011 Time: 1:30 pm Location: Chief City Shooters Club (CMP affiliated club) 27280 North 1400 East Road Pontiac, Illinois 61764 Course of fire: This match will follow Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) procedures for "as-issued" military and unlimited M1 garand course A (30 rounds). All class will fire concurrently with an 80 second time limit for rapid fire prone CMP rules table 7 page 53. Sighting shots 5 shots 5 minutes Prone slow fire 10 shots 10 minutes Prone rapid 10 shots 80 seconds Standing 10 shots 10 minutes Our club has a 100 yard range with 10 covered firing points. A 200 yard range is under construction but will not be usable until sometime in mid summer. Last year each match averaged 8 to 10 shooters (we are a small country gun club). Many club members own more than one class of rifle so we usualy shoot 2 or more relays. Match fees: Club members $8.00 Non-members $12.00 Junior shooters $5.00 Second entry with another rifle $5.00 all shooters Junior shooters, 16 and under, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Directions: On interstate 55 near Pontiac, Illinois take exit 201 drive north 7 miles on route 23, turn right (north) onto county road 1400 east and travel 1.5 miles. the range is located on the right side of the road and will have a red "RANGE IN USE" sign displayed at the entrance. Go to, www.chiefcityshooters.com at the top right click on "more information" and select schedule from the drop down menu. The first page list types of matches, match director phone numbers and some e-mail addresses. On the second page are matches listed month and date. Our 18 June match has been submitted to the CMP for sactioning approval. Farrell |

Our remaining matches are scheduled for Sept 17 and Oct 15, 2011 are now sactioned CMP events. Matches will consists of John C. Garand, Springfield M1903 and M1903A3, vintage military and modern military classes. In past matches all classes have fired concurrently but in the future if there are more than 10 total shooters firing line space will be prioritized by classes with M1s getting first priority, springfields second, vintage third and modern military fourth. Our club does not provide ammunition but we do award CMP achivement medals. If you have additional questions I can be contacted at 815-822-4683.
