I found this MRT 44 marked sling in a local gun shop today, was among a pile of khaki WW2 dated .45 double magazine pouches.
![]() ![]() This is the earliest one I've ever seen and found some early MRT sling info posted here: http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=62143 Referenced link: http://web.archive.org/web/201111031...com/26513.html |

Looks really nice for a 77 year old sling. Maybe too nice?

For the experts, please rate my analysis:
1. Weave too course. 2. Green too "apple green", should be either an OD or Khaki. 3. Buckle: Should be flat. 4. Looks like a current manufacture M1 sling, like CMP (among others) sells where someone spent $12.00 at Staples for a rubber stamp. No criticism on the current CMP slings, I keep a few in my range bag, but they are not WWII slings :-) JH

Good lord, let me call my ex; she said I'm never right....
Thanks! It sure looks new, obviously. I'm thinking the hook and other buckle are different too, I need to go lay a few out and compare; I have several WWII ones. Are the WWII ones worth enough to waste that sort of effort? Only WWII ones I have I bought from CMP so not a realistic market price.
