Default 7.62 surplus ammo question

Anyone have experience with OFV M80 73 ammo?

I know it's manufactured by Ordnance Factory Varangaon, India

non-corrosive, dependable, accuracy, etc?

Thanks

I you would not drink the water in an area, why trust the ammo .
Just a rule of thumb that is commonly discussed.

Art, I'm with you. It's not like there aren't reasonably priced quality alternatives.

Basically the same thing was said when the Ethiopian ammo came out about a year ago Turns out it was very good ammo so...

Hard to beat free unless you know someone that will pay me to take ammo. Please send me that phone #

Then why are you asking, sounds like you already have your mind made up. I wouldn't use the Ethiopian Garand ammo either.
I prefer to use known quality ammo

Part of the quality equation is confidence that you will get high quality ammo all the time - not just some of the time. I don't gamble with ammo since explosive chemistry can go very wrong and the explosion is inches from my face. I will only trust my firearms and my eyesight to known good players in the game.

25+ years ago I was in India looking at rifles and pistols. 7.62 ammo was offered and I requested QC reports. Those were provided, and with what I felt were significant problems with production lots...I decided to pass. Cost 10$ US/1000...THEIR choice of lots to be provided. No thanks. To me, just not worth the trouble. I have the QC reports filed somewhere and will try to find and indicate problems they reported with that production.

I'm asking hoping that someone with actual experience with the ammo would answer my questions.

I know if someone were to ask me a similar specific questions, unless I had first hand knowledge or knew a reliable source for the answer, I wold not offer any opinion.

Thanks BobJ50.

Now that is the kind of response I am looking for. Someone that may have actual knowledge.

People don't drink the water in Mexico and they make some quality ammo. Just sayin'.

With the Ethopian ammo a lot of folks opined that it was no good, even dangerous.

Then the people that actually used and tested the ammo reported that it was good to go.

That was valuable information. People could make an informed decision.

BTW, if I had already made up my mind why would I ask the questions?
