Default Cmp 1911

My Colt CSR (717XXX) is stamped on the left side of the frame and on the top! The slide(blued) is marked Colt on the right and replacement number on the left! Have not figured out what the barrel is yet!! Born appears to be chrome lined and excellent! Overall looks like a war horse!!
I was very pleased to receive it since my birth year is 1940!!

Meadows states the serial numbers that show Navy use thru archive records were in the 720xxx-721xxx range. Its not a large number. There's no way to know how stores were transferred beyond the initial Colt records. The 1939s were all shipped to the Navy at Sewalls Point in two batches of course.

When you say frame and slide match,you do mean slide is numbered to frame?
