Default Maybe a good deal on a M1A "kit"

Not mine and no relation to the seller. One kit looks to be a "Scout" the other says heavy barrel.

Interesting, but would like more information on just what you're getting. I suppose a phone call would be needed.....or an email.

It says... "Springfield M1A" ???
What other receiver would they be attached to?
Why would it matter?

Higher probability of USGI parts if not SA Inc receiver???

Best I can discern from pictures they are probably SAI parts.

Noone else made a "Scout" rifle but SA Inc.
And the Scout models were made with some non-GI parts to begin with.

It says... "Springfield M1A" ???
What other receiver would they be attached to?

Also weren't the Scout etc put out in the last 5-10yrs...... so well after SA INC
ran out of most GI parts???

It smells funny to me. The description says that it's a complete kit with everything shown in the picture included, which shows the receiver cut in half. Also says No receiver included.
LRB, has g.i. kits for 400ish. I think they are missing a bolt and barrel.

Thanks. Maybe better off just watching listings here and GB. A while ago, there were good deals on the early SA ones with mostly USGI parts. Maybe just keep an eye out for one of those.
From LRB - Kit does not include receiver, bolt, barrel, elevation pinion, gas cylinder assembly. SALE IS FINAL . NO

No receiver, would have to buy and have barrel installed and bolt lapped if required. Pretty sure I can do the rest.

I do have 2 really nice M14 stocks that spoke to me when I was at the SS. One walnut and one birch that I kept in case I ever get an M1A.
