Default 1 of 100 Springfield Armory National Match rifle

Picked up a 1 of 100 SA NM rifle. Serial number is 8400 which puts it middle to late 1977 and is marked "1 of 100" on the side of the receiver. Rifle is really nice and is New in the Box. I've never heard of these so any info would be appreciated...

Springfield has issued several special production model rifles over the years. One of my favorites was the Even Thousand model. I had number 15000 for a spell. it was blued with a nice gloss finish on the wood and not a NM model. These were available in the 1993.
