The Bula Defense Systems XM21 CBR.
This carbon fiber stock set along with the Magpul adjustabe butt stock is fantastic for those of us that enjoy precision prone long range. Modern day set up for the M14.

Bula XM21 in Bula carbon fiber stock with Magpul butt stock and monster grip instead of a pistol grip. SEI M118 standard profile barrel cut down to 17". Nikon red dot. What the heck, it's all fun.

Nothing compares to wood & steel for looks, but aluminum & steel is what you want for ultimate performance.

Finished these rifles up in early October. USGI heeled Bula Defense Receivers. Build to 22" M14 gi profile with USGI wood. Used Hawk's Ambi kits to fill the selector cutouts in the stocks. Dang I love this hobby.

Still working on the configuration of this XM21. Just can't seem to find what I am looking for.

Default Camp Perry ca 1988

In the late 80's I was on the Downstate Illinois Rifle Team (D.i.R.T.). We competed at Camp Perry a few times. I have almost no photos of that era. Team member Big Fred Woltz dug out this one of me shooting offhand at Camp Perry. Probably 1988 give or take a year.

Brings back good memories.

Sidebar note: Fred's son "Little Fred" held the record for the youngest Distinguished Rifleman for a long time. Won it at age 14 as I recall, and with an M1A to boot. He was finally bumped from that position by a mouse gun shooter.

I'm getting to the stage where 'Glory Days' by Bruce Springstein is my theme song. Especially the line:

"Time slips away and leaves you with mister but boring stories of glory days."
