Default Sorting Out My Drill Rifle

I brought back a 1903A3 drill rifle with a NOS '44 2 groove barrel installed by Chuck in Denver. The stock is a scant that has 2 cracks, one on each side of the receiver that have been repaired but it has plenty of character. I have not been able to get it to hold a decent group. I finally realized that the receiver was not sitting on the stock behind the recail lug at all, all the contact was directly on the front of trigger guard. I bedded the flat behind the recoil lug and "bedded" the front of the trigger guard just behind the screw ferrule to prevent it crushing into the wood. I hope this solves the grouping issue. There is the distinct possibility that I am not just that good of a shot.

I thought I was the only one that would admit to being a bad shot!

Default Range Update

The bedding appears to have worked. The groups were much tighter. I could still benefit from a wider front sight, USMC style but I am on the right track.
I'm gussing a few more pounds of pressure at the fore end would not hurt either. I currently have 4.7 lbs up pressure.
