I’m trying to get a consensus on the correct magazine catch for a 32,XXX Inland I own. I think it should be a Type 1, serrated, long face, but there’s conflicting information.
I did a search of the forum and came up with a thread that references a CCNL that states “Just past 80,000 for the start of the type 1A.”, which would mean Type 1 is what I need. Ruth says “very early production”. Larson (yes, I’m aware of the controversy around his book) says “initial production in 1942” with the long, plain face coming around in late 1942. Riesch says 1942 production in his description, but then shows in his chart that the long, plain face showed up at SN 12,000 which would have been summer of 1942. I already have a Type 1A on it. I’m trying to figure out if I need to get a Type 1. I prefer the look of a Type 1 so kind of just want an excuse to buy one, even though they’re expensive and very tough to find. Thanks for any help. |

CCNL 346 says type 1 is correct for your rifle. Should be marked EI serial 3204-77240

wtmr, are you saying you might have a long serrated face? I have a long smooth face on the weapon at this time.
